@MJ Ray: Launchpad leans about people from various pieces of public data that it imports (published packages, translations, etc), and uses "person records" to tie that data together.

Note that person records are not necessarily associated with accounts (as is the case with the three "MJ Ray" records I can see on the site). They won't be linked up to an account until that person starts using Launchpad and proves that they own the corresponding email address.

Launchpad is awesome, no doubt about that. However, most mainstream (GNOME, KDE and Linux) hackers I know of do not want to even hear about any VCS other than git nowadays. So they won't consider using this awesome tool as long as it uses bzr as it's (main) VCS.

Is this going to be a one-eyed lovefest, or will the bits where launchpad needs to improve be mentioned?

For example, I think I have two accounts on launchpad.net. I never asked to be there, I don't want to be there (because its privacy policy is too weak IMO), but there seems to be no way to get my listing redirected to my website without registering (and I'm not sure if there is a way even if I register).

I personally think the "me too" button is actually one of the most important features of any bug tracker, up there with bounties. "I have a $200 printer that's sitting here collecting dust until this driver is packaged and it'd be fantastic if I could pay $40 to have that done in a timely manner instead of selling it and buying another one."
